Pitch! to Spotlight Gambling Harm Prevention Innovation

Regulating the Game (RTG) revealed that Evive Australia will open the Pitch! showcase, a highlight of its renowned annual conference in Sydney. The sixth edition of the conference will take place on 9 March 2026 at the iconic Sydney Opera House.

Evive Australia: Introducing Technology-Driven Support

Evive Australia has designed a unique app to support individuals wishing to alter their gambling patterns or access help regarding gambling harms. The concept is the brainchild of Sam DeMello, a technology specialist whose personal experiences with gambling harm inform the development, and is backed by Jay Robinson, a respected safer-gambling expert with over twenty years in harm minimization and prevention efforts. The aim of the app is to offer tailored tools, resources, and pathways to empower users to lower risks or obtain support as needed.

Industry Endorsements and Impact

“Evive brings together real-world experience, clinical expertise and technology to create an accessible and credible platform for change. Pitch! was conceived to spotlight exactly these kinds of innovations – ideas that challenge convention, improve safeguards and reimagine the future of regulation and industry practice,” said Paul Newson, Principal at Vanguard Overwatch and founder of Regulating the Game.

“Evive isn’t just another app, it’s a bridge between lived experience, behavioral science and practical support. It shows that compliance and compassion can coexist, and when they do, everyone benefits. The app gives regulators and operators confidence in credible harm reduction tools, while giving people a safe, stigma free path to change,” Robinson said.
